Missing features / improvements

It would be great if a student or a team in MTH8408 could contribute to CUTEst.py as part of their class project. What are the missing features and/or improvements that would be the most useful or important?

I never had the time to review all Python and Cython methods to see if they were correctly implemented since we finished the project. I think it can have some improvements about the data management between Python and Cython depending on the problem characteristics (particularly for big problem). Moreover, it may also have some methods from CUTEst who were not linked.

Otherwise, it will be good to assure handle several problems from CUTEst in Python. This issue does not appear all the time, it's depending of the environment you're working.

I don't know if it will be enough work for a team, but maybe I can supervised a student for this update.

If I understand well, we could define the following priority topics:

• implement the complete CUTEst API
• add tests for every function
• ensure portability across Linux and OSX/MacOS
• complete the continuous integration
• write a brief tutorial / user's manual
• illustrate how to pass a CUTEst problem to a solver written in Python

Are there other topics?
