[Ask] WebRTC support

Hi mate,

I'm planning to create some video streaming app in Android that uses USB Webcam.
I've tried using libs: https://github.com/saki4510t/UVCCamera but it doesn't support WebRTC streaming.

Is it possible to stream video in a WebRTC app using this library?

The UVC implementation is still incomplete at this point in time but it is close to working. Once implemented it should be possible to support WebRTC however that would likely not be part of this library directly as the only goal of this library is to provide raw access to the camera streams and simplify UI display of webcam output.

@gilangabdulaziz To add another perspective on this...

There is a high likelihood I will implement some sort of WebRTC wrapper as that fits nicely with my ultimate goal behind where this project fits into my personal needs. As @ToxicBakery points out, the UVC implementation is still incomplete but close. I can't give you a timeline on when I would get to it but its certainly on my radar.

Meanwhile I opened a feature request to integrate a UVC library into react-native-webrtc which powers Jitsi Meet. Contributions are welcome.

@vakrolme This project was more of an experiment than anything. I had hopes of making it more viable but the UVC usb class requires a lot of work, more than I am currently willing to dedicate, especially given that Android has mainstream support for external USB cameras now (even if the manufacturers aren't enabling it)
