light the icon without cron

Hi, I am using unison-tray and I noticed that if you use it with the cron configuration, the icon will light every time a new sync is scheduled.
Instead, I am using executable = /usr/local/bin/unison -ui text configuration with fs-monitor configured in unison.
The sync still work using unison-tray but it will be awesome to get the light on (on the icon) when a new line in the log is created so that I am sure that the sync happened.
