Looking for testers!

Unfortunately, I do not have access to any larger Redmine project anymore, nor am I using Redmine anywhere anymore. I can only test with some artificially constructed local project that cannot represent any real project or usage. I would really appreciate it if you can test v2.16.0 in your project or organization and report any findings (or their absence). Thank you!

How did you install redmine_dashboard? Did you restart Redmine and are you running in production environment?

Good time of day.
I have the same problem on version 6 of redmine.
I installed it as in the manual. Before that, there was the 5th version of redmine. The plugin worked on version 5.

I installed it like this.
Downloaded the archive from github https://github.com/jgraichen/redmine_dashboard/releases/download/v2.16.0/redmine-dashboard_v2.16.0.tar.gz
Then I unzipped it to the
/opt/redmine/plugins folder.
The full path turned out to be
/opt/redmine/plugins/redmine_dashboard
Then I change the rights.
chown -R redmine:redmine /opt/redmine

bundle install --without development test

restarting apache.

Hi, did you restart Redmine too? It usually does not run in Apache.

The plugin seems working, but no assets are loaded. This indicated, that Redmine does not load correctly, or runs in the wrong RAILS_ENV environment.

Please check your browser console about missing .css and .js requests, and check the Apache config.

I have the same issue. I have to manually create plugin_assets/redmine_dashboard in public/assets and copy plugins/redmine_dashboard/assets/javascripts/* and plugins/redmine_dashboard/assets/stylesheets/* into it, then I load normally.
I'm using sameersbn/redmine:6.0.5.

I can confirm that the following manual workaround solved the issue for me as well (thanks @Mowd for sharing):

Same issue as #597 (comment) here.

• Redmine 6.0.5.stable from the official docker container: docker-library/redmine (or on docker hub).
• Dashboard v2.16.0 plugin installed as described in the README.md.

The workaround mentioned by Mowd (manually copying the files) worked for me as well.

Hi, Redmine itself copies plugin assets into the public directory. If it cannot do that, that implies an issue with the container image, such as file permissions.

The most recent versions of Redmine have changed to not copying assets at all, but using propshaft. This might either need some file write permissions on boot, or running a rake task: https://www.redmine.org/issues/39111

Please check with the container image maintainers if their image supports these Redmine features.

The CI here sets up a regular Redmine installation for each commit and release, and that works fine.
There is not much I can do on the plugin at all. 🙏.
