I am working on a proposal for a call to be submitted next week, and could not find time to work on solving these issues. I will work on these asap.

thank you @mmann1123 for the suggestion. the research impact statement was slightly modified:

prosail has been used in multiple research publications since its early
developments for applications in agriculture ([@verrelst2021]), ecology
([@hauser2021], [@feret2026]), forestry ([@ferreira2026]), and vegetation
monitoring in general [@kattenborn_temporal_2024].
The model PROSAIL is used to analyze optical imagery acquired from UAV to
airborne to spaceborne sensors, including multispectral satellite (Sentinel-2,
Landsat) and imaging spectroscopy sensors (EnMAP, PRISMA, AVIRIS).
This package is currently used in multiple research projects, and is actively
maintained.
