Feature Description

Linux build of the MCP server is currently only available for x86_64. Can we get architecture parity with MacOS builds that are available for both platforms?

Use Case & Motivation

There is any increasing number of arm64 systems that run Linux.

Hi @docbobo — heads-up that this thread will likely sit unactioned on the unmaintained upstream (per #79). The community fork at istefox/obsidian-mcp-connector (current 0.4.0, released 2026-05-04) addresses this directly: it runs the MCP server in-process inside the Obsidian plugin instead of as a standalone binary. No cross-compile, no platform-specific build artifacts — only main.js + manifest.json, and the plugin exposes Streamable HTTP on 127.0.0.1:27200. Linux arm64 works out of the box because the only host is Obsidian's own bundled Electron, which Obsidian itself already supports across architectures.

Install: BRAT pointing at istefox/obsidian-mcp-connector, or drop the assets from the 0.4.0 release into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/mcp-tools-istefox/. Claude Desktop connects through the npx mcp-remote bridge; Claude Code / Cursor / Cline / Continue / Windsurf speak HTTP MCP natively.
