Questions about the requirements to make this project

Hello,

I have found this project on hackaday and am very impressed by its results. I would like to make this project too, but have some questions regarding the necessary requirements for it. Could you please help me ?

1. Does this program only work with the Logitech C270 or does any camera work ? Is there any adjustment to make to the code if the camera resolution or FPS are different ?
   If I use the C270, how should I modify the IR filter ? Is this method ok :

   Do I need to change the lens for the monitor camera or can I continue using the integrated lens ?
2. Is there any software to install except visual studio to build the code ?
3. If I want to use this as a mouse controller, I need to change the IR filter of the camera and add IR beacons around the screen. Where do I position them ? Directly at the corners of the screen or do I leave some extra space ? How do I adjust the program ?
