Fused trinkets aren't reflecting their uses properly

I've noticed that fused trinkets break at a very fast rate compared to their stated number of uses. I just repaired this trinket to a max of 48 uses, and it has fallen to 45 after entering one portal.

Using two uses is expected (a use for each trinket inside) but I am not sure why 3 get taken.

The prestige for Immortal Trinkets will work next update, Trinketer should also affect this, so that would help in meantime.
