Hello there!

The IPFS community is all about specs and protocols and prettycools, and I wanna take this opportunity to highlight a few that could use some help.

Needs review

• IPLD
  • Captain.log - IPLD v1 spec ipld/specs#13
• multihash
  • RFC Spec Draft multiformats/multihash#41
• CID
  • Experimental Proposal: CIDv1 -- IPLD, Multicodec-packed, and more #130

Needs writing

• fs: URI scheme
  • Standard URI for ipfs and ipns protocols (Discussion) kubo#1678 (comment)
• HTTP-to-IPFS gateway semantics
  • what the "API" is, which kinds of objects are expected to work (unixfs)
  • how ISPs and local networks can "hijack/override" the public gateway
• multiaddr
  • with regard to how "resolvable" addresses like /dns and /dnsaddr work
• dnslink
  • spec out dnslink #76
• dnsaddr

Is there a better way to display this information? Perhaps as individual issues for each?

Most items have been addressed (CID spec exists, gateway specs exist, dnslink, dnsaddr is in libp2p specs) or are tracked elsewhere. Closing this stale 2016 meta-issue.
