[SUGGESTION] Make the app available on F-Droid

As the title says, I would like to see iNaturalist available on F-Droid and perhaps with OpenStreetMaps an option for the map data rather than just Google Maps.

I ended up here because I couldn't find iNaturalist on F-Droid too. I guess a browser will have to do for a while. Can anyone tell me if I roll my own apk from source, will it function with only micro-G services or does it require the full google play services?

I am on Android without a Google account. I installed iNaturalist from the pre-built .apk that was kindly included in the release. For example, look at this release:

I updated the releases page to reflect the current state of our production releases on Google Play.
Latest stable release is v1.37.2+638
Newer ones are in beta testing

This seems like a nice service, but I'm not going to use it without a open source client available on F-Droid.

The website doesn't have a mobile version, which makes it rather difficult to use.

Sadly, the website on mobile is not usable.
F-Droid build would be nice to have.
