New user, and just installed the latest version. It is stuck on checking for updates, waiting for network, please connect to the internet. Have checked the log file and this is what is displayed -
2025-05-15 22:31:03 WARN n.b.g.s.NetworkConnectivityListener - Network not available. Retrying in 6 seconds...

Have valid internet connection.

Hi, do you happen to have any VPN or DNS restrictions on your network?

The connectivity checker in v1.5.8 tests network access using Google's and Cloudflare's DNS servers. If access to these is restricted for any reason, it's expected that the program will fail to continue. v1.5.9 should resolve this issue, provided that at least "github.com" is reachable.

Please let me know if the issue persists.

Hi - if Avast is blocking the access to the DNS server, is there an IP or web address I should put as an exception?

The specific IP addresses we test against are as follows:

1.1.1.1:53 – Cloudflare DNS (IPv4)

[2606:4700:4700::1111]:53 – Cloudflare DNS (IPv6)

8.8.8.8:53 – Google DNS (IPv4)

[2001:4860:4860::8888]:53 – Google DNS (IPv6)

And as of v1.5.9, we also check for connectivity using the following web addresses:
github.com, google.com, wikipedia.org, and bilibili.com

As long as at least one of these is whitelisted, the program should be able to pass the initial network check.
