More Information

AndroidTV Ultimate is materially different from the existing verified homebridge-androidtv plugin. It implements Android Remote Service v2 directly inside Homebridge and provides secure pairing through the Homebridge custom UI. It does not require the separate localhost:8182 pairing server used by the existing plugin, ADB, cloud services, terminal access, or custom Homebridge startup parameters.

Additional functionality includes:

  • Dynamic multi-device support with isolated identities and state.
  • Authenticated live power, volume, mute, foreground-app, and active-input state.
  • mDNS discovery, persistent endpoint caching, DHCP/IP recovery, and reconnect handling.
  • Configurable apps, deep links, HDMI/tuner/USB sources, and Android key commands.
  • A validated, remotely maintained input catalogue with bundled and cached fallback data.
  • Reusable personal input presets and stable foreground-package learning.
  • Device-specific HomeKit presentation profiles and configurable controls.
  • Encrypted configuration, credential, discovery, and learned-state backup/migration.
  • Wake-on-LAN and optional CEC wake through another paired Android device such as a set-top box.
  • Privacy-safe diagnostics and connection testing from the custom UI.

Version 0.5.2 supports Homebridge 1.8/2.x and Node.js 20, 22, and 24. CI covers all three Node.js versions. Startup, shutdown, restart, unconfigured, unreachable-device, error-handling, packaging, catalogue-validation, and clean production dependency scenarios have been tested. Every published npm version has a matching changelog entry, git tag, and GitHub Release.
