Is this a reproducible bug?
Current behavior
Dragging the live/unsaved screenshot preview thumbnail (from macOS screenshot capture, before it is saved to disk) into a herdr pane running locally produces no output at all: no text, no image, nothing in the pane or the foreground program.
Expected behavior
Same as a bare WezTerm shell with no herdr running (reproduction step 3 below): the dropped file's path is inserted as text into the pane.
Reproduction
- Take a screenshot (Cmd+Shift+4) so its floating thumbnail is on screen; do not click it away.
- Drag that thumbnail into a herdr pane (local session). Nothing happens.
- Drag the same thumbnail into a bare WezTerm pane with herdr fully quit: the file path is inserted as text.
- Save the screenshot to disk, then drag the saved file into the same herdr pane from step 2: it works normally.
Impact
Drag-and-drop of an in-progress screenshot into any local herdr pane is unusable; only Ctrl+V clipboard paste or manually saving the file first work around it.
Environment
- Herdr version: 0.7.5
- Update channel (stable or preview): stable
- Operating system: macOS 26.5.2
- Terminal: WezTerm 0-unstable-2026-06-22
- Shell, if relevant: zsh (login shell)
- Relevant config, if any: local session (not --remote)
