Phone number with +65 is not accepted

The UG mentioned that the phone number is specific to Singapore phone number. However, valid phone number with +65 at the start is not accepted.

This might cause a problem because the user might not manually type the phone number, they might copy paste it from somewhere else (e.g. from their Whatsapp chat with the student, etc). Hence, if they copy the phone number with a +65, they need to do an additional step of deleting the +65 manually.

Suggestion: Since the country scope is clear, the developer can consider accepting valid country code +65

Thank you for your input. we will mark this as NotInScope.

That is a valid concern raised, but we believe that such enhancement could be postponed to the further iterations.

Since we have stated in the UG that, our application is specific to Singapore phone number, storing Singapore phone number without the country code will likely not cause any ambiguity to the user.

To accept country code +65 in our current iteration will reduce our effort available for other crucial features of our application, such as the payments feature.

Moreover, if we were to accept country code +65, and in the event some users enter +65, while some users do not, the phone number displayed will be quite messy and inconsistent.

Of course, your suggestion is valuable to our team in terms of improving the user experience for UGTeach, and we will discuss and consider this in the future iteration.
