Often when I try to play Vimeo videos, the screen just says "invalid meta for Vimeo". Clicking "use original player" doesn't help.
I have the Safari extension YouTube5 installed (v. 2.6.8). It has an option to "Prevent videos from playing automatically". Underneath that are options "Enable for YouTube videos" and "Enable for Vimeo videos".
When I unchecked "Enable for Vimeo videos", the problem went away.
