Description
When pressing enter on a note in the list to begin editing it (after for eg, a search), the cursor will sometimes be set to the bottom of the note. This is doesn't always happen. Sometimes the cursor will be at the last edit point of that note, which is the expected behaviour. But then it other times it's like the last edit position is lost, and the cursor gets set to the end of the note.
This seems to be an issue since at least version 7. I don't recall version 6 having this issue.
To Reproduce
I don't have any reliable way to reproduce this as of yet. I'm hoping others might have experienced something similar so we can start discussing it.
My notes can be multiple pages, so that might be a data point - long notes.
I use iCloud to sync to the mobile app, but this issue can be triggered without using the mobile app, so it's probably not a sync related bug. And I wouldn't expect cursor position to sync between desktop and mobile.
It happens pretty frequently that the cursor position is lost and set to the bottom, so it's not hard to trigger, I just don't have a precise method. But my flow is typically as follows:
- cmd+l to focus search
- search for a note
- press enter to edit note which has risen to top of search results.
I am often switching back to other apps, doing things, then repeating the above sequence.
Expected behavior
When entering a note, the cursor is at the last position it was when last editing that note.
FSNotes version
7.1.4
macOS/iOS version
15.7.5 macOS
Additional context
"Note auto selection when body text matched" option is not enabled.
