Is there a way to disable the word/character count in the editor screen?

I just upgraded to version 7.0.0 on macOS, and see the new word and character counts in the bottom left corner of the editor screen. However, this information isn't really relevant to how I use the app (songwriting, journaling, and capturing ideas). Is there a way to hide this visual clutter?

It is not possible to disable this at the moment, but if there are further requests, I will add a corresponding option in the settings. Thank you for feedback.

+1 — yes please. the less distracting and irrelevant (for me) things on the screen the better.

I always struggle for some screen space. Often I'll have a notes window open in the background to look at. A reference sheet so to speak. E.g., typing a Bash command in a VM where I can't copy&paste. So I move my FSNotes window to some corner and scroll to the relevant section to see behind my front-window. The VM window has a fixed size, so I only have like 4–5 visible lines of notes. And that word-count swallows 2 lines because I cannot scroll it away.

+1 to having an option to remove this information, it's not useful to me.
