I can confirm that even minimal calls to Xdp.Portal.spawn () under Gtk4 crashes with the VariantBuilder errors given above, whether or not running in Flatpak. This demo repo also crashes: https://github.com/Diego-Ivan/libportal-vala-demo. Unfortunately gdb does not give exactly where the crash occurs.

which appears to correspond to the source code in the main branch. I have libportal version 0.7.1 installed from the repository.
