Flippers stick

I have an issue on 2.4 where the flippers get repetitively stuck in the up position even when released. I have to tap again to make them go down. Not sure what I'm doing in particular to cause it - seems random but pretty frequent.

If it helps, I noticed one thing that causes this: If your fingers briefly trigger the back gesture from the edge of the screen, even if you cancel by swiping back. For me I think this happens a lot since my fingers are on the edges as I press to trigger the flippers. I can't say this is what happens every time, but I was able to reproduce it. Seems to think I'm still holding down that flipper after.
