Define intentional timesheeting philosophy

So what does this mean?

Really it means that I don't just want to blindly pull tasks from MyHours - I want to wrap them in intentionality. So whilst it's straightforward to pull from the remote, I probably really want a local list that I'm joining iwth the myhours data. Which is quite a lot fiddlier to do.

What's the simplest way?

So ideally you'd use a service that proscribes intentionality at source. I.e. whomever is setting tasks might say:

• the roles you do are X, Y, Z (head of CS, solutions architect, SLT member, generic employee, human being)
• your activities come from Jira, or myhours, or your calendar
• the reason also comes from Jira, or myhours

But in the absence of that, we need to be able to create that expressiveness locally.

So, let's experiment with a new interaction.

activity: (list from Jira, list from calendar, list from local settings?)
for: (list of customers)

Then this whole thing has to map to a remote myhours thing if we're going to compile. But that sounds like a property of the compiler to me?

And actually most of the time you'll be doing something you've done before. So I think there should be a faff start and a faff start new.

As the head of CS, I am attending a meeting to support retention of an existing customer for customer X?

The benefit of this structure is that it can tell you:

• what % of your time you spend in a particular role
• what % of your time you spend on a particular activity
• what % of your time you spend delivering a particular value
• what % of your time you spend in service of whom
