Search result remains on the timeline after clearing the search query

Bug summary

The search result remains on the timeline after clearing the search query, causing several messages are overlapping each other.

Steps to reproduce

It seems there are several ways of reproducing this issue. The issue seems to be reproduced on the room where "Show more" button is rendered for each message.

1. Open https://matrix.to/#/!gqlCuoCdhufltluRXk:etke.cc ("etke.cc | news")
2. Search "Weekly"
3. Close the search bar

Expected behavior

The timeline should be rendered cleanly.

Actual behavior

Several messages overlap each other.

I wonder if this is something related to your GPU trouble. The video shows that the timeline gets really broken after you close up search. Various things overlapping, etc.

I can't reproduce anything like this.

On my machine the issue can be reproduced on the build based on 26e8f34 (both inside a Debian VM and outside of it), so it might be indeed related to the GPU.

But the interesting thing is that everything is actually clickable including multiple "Show more" buttons, so they are not fake elements which would just be rendered.

I'm struggling to reproduce the issue consistently- will keep looking into it.

I've pushed some fix (d377973) for some message overlap issue after searching that I've encountered and could reproduce consistently. I'm not sure if it's the same issue you were hitting. See if you can still reproduce this or if we should close this issue.
