Request Piston API Whitelist Access for Portfolio Code Editor

Hello,

I am requesting whitelist access to the public Piston API for my portfolio project.

Project: CodeNest - Online Code Editor

Use case:
CodeNest is a portfolio/learning project that lets users create coding rooms, save snippets, and run small code examples in languages like JavaScript, Python, and C++.

Expected usage:
Low traffic, demo/portfolio usage only. Code execution is rate-limited on my backend and proxied through my Render API.

Current issue:
GET /runtimes works, but POST /execute returns:
"Public Piston API is now whitelist only as of 2/15/2026."

Note:
The backend is hosted on Render free tier, so outbound IP may not be static. Please let me know if you need a static IP or another verification method.

@Serkanbyx you can try creating a container of piston and later on host it,your problem was quite similar to mine but I fixed it with using piston as self-hosted container and then use any reverse proxy/ vite for CORS related error.

That’s actually helpful. I was mainly trying to understand whether whitelist access was still possible for a small portfolio project, but self-hosting Piston sounds like a more practical route.
I’ll take a look at the container setup and see if I can route execution through my own backend instead.
