Support GatewayAPI for the matrix-stack

I'm annoyed when a chart doesn't support creating GatewayAPI routes for things.

Make them myself, but that might be more difficult than I imagine.

Hi, thanks for the request, it seems like a reasonable one. It currently isn't high on our priority list, though we'd be happy to reconsider the priority of it on request from an ESS Pro customer.

In the mean time community patches would be welcome to implement this, though the changes are likely to be far reaching (e.g. we would want to move <component>.ingress.host up to <component>.hostname, <component>.fqdn or similar)

Just a quick note to say that we are aware of https://kubernetes.io/blog/2025/11/11/ingress-nginx-retirement/ and that this may lead to increased interest in GatewayAPI support. Our prioritisation above hasn't changed at present, but it is possible that internal/customer requests in the next months make it more likely

I don't know if you're still looking for community contributions for this, but I did open pr #1050 with a gateway implementation. I am also in the ESS Community matrix room if you want to chat.

If Ingress gets a makeover in the helm chart, would be nice if it was also optional.
