Missing original PECD4.2 shapefile

Hello,

I am currently working with the PECD dataset and, in particular, with the spatial aggregation of PEON/PEOF data to NUTS0.

I noticed that the shapefile corresponding to the original PECD4.2 version (i.e. the non-v2 version) seems to be missing from the notebook/documentation. Only the shapefile corresponding to PECD4.2_v2 appears to be available.

From my understanding, the number of zones differs between the original version and the v2 version, which prevents using the v2 shapefile together with the PECD4.2 weights.

Would it be possible to indicate where the shapefile corresponding to the original PECD4.2 zoning can be downloaded?

If that shapefile is not available, could you please confirm whether there is an official correspondence table between PECD4.2 and PECD4.2_v2 zones that should be used for visualization purposes?

I spoke forwarded your question to colleagues responsible for this dataset, and here is their response:

1. The Pan-European Onshore and Offshore Zones can be downloaded from the CDS, download page, selecting Variable-- Weigths and masks-- PEON, P2ON, PEOF, P2OF. https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/datasets/sis-energy-pecd?tab=download
2. P2ON and P2OF correspond to the new aggregations PECDv4.2 v2, while PEON and PEOF are the ones original for PECD v4.2.
