Errors get lost in message when multiple lines

When there's an error in the message text and there are multiple lines, the error isn't as obvious to notice.
Also, the error message disappearing after 10 seconds may not be long enough when there's an error.

May want to make two changes:

• Increase message timeout when there's an error
• Change background color of each message line so error stands out better
