🚨 Contributor Guidelines & Etiquette #293

Description

@dipexplorer

Hey Contributors! 👋

Welcome to the LegalHub project! Whether you’re new or experienced, we want contributions to be smooth, fun, and effective. To keep everything running nicely, please follow these basic contributor etiquette rules:

1️⃣ Respond to Suggestions

  • If a project maintainer or reviewer shares feedback on your PR, please respond promptly.
  • Waiting 3–5 days (or longer 😅) causes delays, merge conflicts, and slows down development.
  • Even a short comment like “Working on it” helps everyone stay on the same page.

2️⃣ Only Raise PRs You Can Follow Up On

  • Submit a PR only if you can actively work on requested changes.
  • If you cannot make the changes, communicate clearly instead of leaving the PR hanging.

3️⃣ Respect Assignments

  • If you are assigned an issue, try to update it on time.
  • Delays block progress for others and make conflicts more likely.

4️⃣ Provide Visual Proof for UI/UX Changes

  • For any PR that involves UI/UX updates, always include screenshots or screen recordings of the changes you made after suggestions.
  • This helps reviewers understand your update clearly.
  • Raising a UI-related PR without visual proof makes it very hard to review and slows down merging.

4️⃣ Communicate Clearly

  • Need more time? Can’t complete the task? Let us know!
  • Clear communication keeps the project organized and development moving fast 🚀.

⚡ Why This Matters

This is an active project — delayed responses, ignored suggestions, and unmaintained PRs make it harder for everyone. Following these simple rules ensures we can keep contributing, reviewing, and merging efficiently.

Thanks for being part of the LegalHub community and helping us build something amazing! ✨
