There was discussion in the Advisory group session (22nd Jan 2025) about some of the challenges and potential needs around the applicant and agent.

We discussed how there can be multiple applicants - currently on the form the person filling it in can put multiple names and details in the same boxes.

We discussed how sometimes someone applies on behalf of the applicant but they are not working in a professional capacity (an agent) so can not be classed as such. This can lead to GDPR issues.

I would suggest that we capture contact details consistently across all types, be that separately or as part of this component. I see no reason why PIP needs treating differently?

Agree with consistency across all types. Strongly disagree that all the applicant's details are a "must"; they should all be "may" except the name. Alternatively, if there is a question asking if there is an agent, if yes is the answer then applicant details are a may and agent details are a must. If no agent then applicant details are a must.

@colmjude - I have been on a call today with GMCA, GLA and representatives of the ODP projects. The question about concatenating the address field into one line has been raised and the question about why we are not using a specific addressing standard (ie one that already exists elsewhere).

@MrMikeRose - as you'll know, the purpose of the address standard is to get away from concatenated unstructured address data which is the cause of so much data matching pain! Anything we can do to help with that argument, let me know :)
