PCB option without the 2 outermost keys

Hey @ctranstrum,

This is a magnificent project. I especially like the pinky stagger and the fact that the thumb cluster doesn't require tucking the thums under to reach a key.

I'm very into the Miryoku layout, so the 2 outermost keys on each side will not see any use whatsoever.

Would it be possible to get a PCB design that chops off that extra bit?

I'd really appreciae it.

Hiya, thanks for the kind words and the suggestion.

It's interesting, because after I used my Lintilla for three months or so, I began to wonder a bit about possibly reducing the number of keys as well, so I have already started work on another keyboard that removes ten-twelve of Lintilla's keys. It's not exactly cleanly miryoku, though, so maybe it won't interest you.

I doubt I'll get back to the Lintilla code to remove the outer pinky keys anytime soon, but the project is open source and free to fork, learn, experiment, and adapt.

My guess is that the initial work won't be too difficult. You can look up the "skip" feature of ergogen, add that to the pinky keys you don't want, and then see how things are looking. There will definitely be firmware changes required, but I'd be curious how much of the rest of it will continue working without those outer keys.

If you feel up to trying it, feel free to come back to this issue if you run into roadblocks. And if not, I might do it eventually myself. Either way, though, I'll leave this issue open until there is a solution.
