Starting/Using the plugin

I found this mpvDLNA just today. The folder mpvDLNA and the files mpvDLNA.conf and input.conf are saved as per instructions on Windows 11. Python 3.7 is also installed and working. The media streaming option is turned on and configured. However, when I started mpv, I noticed that nothing related to mpvDLNA was executed.

Furthermore, nothing is mentioned on the mpvDLNA page on how to start and use this mpvDLNA plugin.

The question is how to start and use this plugin on Windows 11.

Once you have mpv open you should be able to hit whatever button you have bound to toggle_mpvDLNA to open the mpvDLNA menu (the readme shows Ctrl+b) and start scanning for DLNA servers.

If you are having trouble getting mpv to stay open when you run it you can either start it using mpv --force-window --idle or try installing mpv.net which provides some additional gui features and makes it easier to use mpv outside of the command line.

I tried to put the portable_config folder where mpv.exe resides, as scripts, and script-opts folders within the portable_config.
Then I put the mpvDLNA folder within the scripts folder and the mpvDLNA.conf in the script-opts folder along with my other working configs.

I added these lines in the input.conf in the working input.conf within the portable_config folder:

What could be the cause for these errors or what could be my mistake?

Ok I at least kind of know what is going on. It looks like it is trying to access a server with an incorrect address. I think the config file example I gave is super misleading because it doesn't really explain that the server address is more than just an ip address, its the full url to the dlna description xml file. This usually looks similar to http://127.0.0.1:53267/mm-1/description.xml only replacing the ip and port with the ones for your server. Also, when filling in the config file you do need to leave the braces around the values, ie: server_addrs={http://127.0.0.1:53267/mm-1/description.xml}. I'll try to update the readme file to be more clear about the format of the config file and I should probably change the code to better check the validity of server addresses.

The only thing I haven't been able to figure out so far is why it seems like when you press ctrl+b mpvDLNA immediately tries to access the invalid server. Usually when you open the menu it would just display the list of servers and wait for you to select one. It might be related to the invalid address in the config file so try fixing that and see if it starts working.
