Exporting cases?

When we go in "Manage cases" we get a table of cases with their attributes. Is there a built-in way to export this table ?

Yes. there is a button: Export attributes to file. This is an Excel file.

That's what I though too but it only exports the name of the attributes (Name, Memo, Id, Files, Attr1, Attr2, ...), so only the column names, not the content. I went around it using a SQL database query. And the documentation around cases only talks about import, not export, so I don't believe this button is supposed to export cases anyway.

Hi Maxe, it exports the details (contents) of the attributes and the case names also.
However, I do see that Memo could be expanded with the memo detail - I can fix this for the next release.
What extra information did you want to be exported ?

I am updating the wiki to show that a table can be exported.

Ahh .. did you want the case text and, case images and case A/V to be exported also?

Oh right, I'm on 3.6. Thanks, I'll update and let you know if the issue still persists with the french version

Great, thanks. I think that is the problem.
When I discovered the openpyxl module I moved a lot of exports to that. As it is a lot error-safe compared to csv.
Still - keep a backup for your work before opening in 3.7 (just in case)

Interesting, that's not the behaviour I'm getting. Maybe a bug with french characters or the french version of QualCoder?

Are you using Qualcoder 3.7
As this exports to Excel using openpyxl module.
Earlier versions mostly used csv export- which cases more problems. And yes maybe French characters where a problem here.

I also see in the export code that it ignores Attribute Errors - I can edit this to show attribute errors.
