No catch possible on CORS errors

I want to inform users when they entered a url that is not accessable due to CORS, but i'am not able to catch an error when L.shapefile states the error on the console.

same here, i got this error when importing congress.zip file

"from origin 'null' has been blocked by CORS policy: Cross origin requests are only supported for protocol schemes: http, data, isolated-app, chrome-extension, chrome, https, chrome-untrusted."
