Hi calquezar, I am trying to use the Motility module. But whenever I choose a file .avi file to run. There is an error window saying "Error Occurred while opening video file. Hi, It seems that the problem is due to the video format. Have you tried with the test files? You will find the videos here: https://figshare.com/articles/OpenCASA_dataset/7247039/1. Hi!

I am also having the same issue while trying to use the Motility feature. I am able to open and use the test files just fine, but when I attempt to open my own .avi files I get an error message saying "An error occurred reading the AVI file. Unsupported compression: 34504d46 'FMP4'". I have tried converting the video into an mp4 format, but nothing happens when I try to open it with the CASA plugin.

I appreciate any help that you can offer!

Hi! I have had this issue as well but managed to solve it today. I normally use .avi files from a PixelLink camera and software. This is a codec issue possibly related to grayscale conversion requirements. Regardless, I used the following command in unix to batch convert my video files using ffmpeg. Please note that you need to have ffmpeg downloaded and installed to run this. Can be achieved with brew or similar, note however there were some issues to brew install ffmpeg, but you can solve that by manually creating a location for python overwrites: Homebrew/homebrew-core#30652

In the shell, move into the directory where your video files are kept.

ffmpeg -i "$file" -f avi -vcodec rawvideo -pix_fmt gray "${file%.avi}_gray.avi"
