No releases/download tags since 2017

The project has been stable and working reliably, but the last official release was in 2017, making it difficult for package maintainers to create proper distribution packages that rely on versioned releases rather than git commits.
Please consider creating a new release from the current package state.
Maybe release package versioning may change to YYYYMMDD?
This would greatly help with dependency tracking, reproducible builds, and inclusion in various Linux distributions' repositories.

I understand, I had my release script in the past but it is broken.

I can do a tag by hand on github, do you suggest a specific hash I should tag ?

Needed steps

On the main page of repository.
Click the gear icon next to “About”.
Add at least one valid topic, for example: DVB, Streamer, or IPTV.

Latest project state should work OK for release, and then for example, every 6-12 month (if project has commits and code auto-builds successfully).
