If the (char)width of the console is available, we could use the fill-method maximize the line.

This is not trivial as it needs to know the rendered length of the string (i.e. the number of columns that will be used on the terminal). With unicode and wide characters, the computation is non trivial, see my comments in e3e2010

Suspect we're not going to do this. We can always reopen if someone comes up with a fix.
