I just tried it out and I get the feeling that it is not working if the Redmine server uses a self-signed certificate.
I just entered my API key, the host (https://XXX) and created an .atom-redmine file with appropriate content. When I now want to see my issues, by pressing str-alt-r m, the overlay says "Loading issues...", but no request is in the server logs.
So, if I may make a wild guess, it is because of the self-signed certificate the server uses.
