freeze the green highlight

It would be useful to be able to freeze the green highlight that you can turn on with the F command, so that you can select a portion of the DSM to be highlighted but then move the cursor around without the highlighting following you.

So at the moment if you right-click on a connection it should toggle that single connection cell's highlight with yellow. The smoothest implementation of your enhancement that I can think of would be to keep the green highlight following the cursor, remove the single-cell toggle highlight, and replace the single-cell toggle with cross highlighting. The right-click to cross highlight could highlight a different color or keep the same green color.

Some questions about my proposed implementation
1.) Would users be able to toggle cross highlight for multiple cells
2.) Would hover to cross-highlight be available if users had a cell toggled to be cross highlighted. This would mean there would be multiple cross highlights
