We are seeing an issue in our Adobe Sign integration where emails are not sent when a logged-in user sends a document to themselves, meaning the recipient email matches the sender email.
Note: This behavior is being observed in our product which integrates with Adobe Sign via API.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Log into our platform (test environment).
- Navigate to a portfolio and upload or select an existing document.
- Trigger the Adobe Sign flow, selecting the logged-in user’s email as the only recipient.
- The document is sent through the integration.
Expected Behavior:
The recipient, even if they are the sender, should receive the Adobe Sign email requesting their signature.
Actual Behavior:
The agreement is successfully created, but no email is received by the recipient when the recipient is the same as the logged-in sender. Other email types from Adobe Sign (such as notifications about signing or voiding by other users) are received correctly.
Is it expected behavior for Adobe Sign to suppress emails when sender and recipient match? Any workarounds for this?
