fix slash issues for links

Description

codebase is inconsistent in regards to links and how we handle them. in some places the slug comes with trailing slashes, in some places we force a slash in the beginning, etc etc..

Acceptance criteria

• links are consistent
• no dead links because of missing/extra slashes in url
