[Feature Request] Off-road Detection

Hi Adam,

I loved the game, and the idea of having a 1:1 map to drive on.

I noticed that there are no consequences for collisions or going off-road, and would like to know if handling these events is contemplated.

Glad you like it! Eventually, yes. I'd like to get roads into a more realistic state first.

Just curious, how did you find this? I haven't published it anywhere other than what's here on github so far 😀

So I found this website, because I follow indie game devs on Tiktok, of a game called Terra Drive:

And I decided to search it on GitHub because I wanted to see how it was made, but found your project.
They do list their GitHub, but don't have it there.
From what I've tested so far, it believe they are using your project as a base, with their assets.

Oh wild, i did not know that existed. I probably should have searched for it before setting the name here, I'll probably rename mine to make sure it's clear it's not related. Looks like they have been around far longer than I've been working on this here haha. This is an unrelated project but looks like we have similar goals.

Think this should be fixed - sort of. 😅

There are now off road objects (lampposts, trees, signs, etc) and they have collision but at least in my testing it's far too many, and they get placed on the road sometimes. Also still feels like the roads aren't as wide as they should be.

Incremental progress haha.

I'll get the objects off the roads, and keep tweaking the roads to be more realistic.
