[feature request] Provide a way to set the mode for log buffers

I'm trying out logview-mode and it seems pretty good, and I'd like to use it for log buffers in kubel also, but there doesn't seem to be a way to automatically set the mode on a log buffer; it's left in fundamental after make-process creates it.
