Site Navigation Thoughts

Replace the accessible switches link in the navbar with a link to CREATE - created open source technologies of which accessible switches is one. This brings up questions such as how we label something as CREATE created -- is it a tag we can add to our data set to auto-populate this page?

so the navbar needs work in general. we need primary navigation for the a11yhood site, and secondary navigation for each subdomain. for example, the accessible switches project has these two navigations combined and that stinks!

so what do we want in our primary navigation? i feel like it looks more like a11yhood.org now.

lets focus on navigation here and deal with populating content in another issue. this is something we can add a tag in our database. i think this aligns with the schema discussions.

so the requirements for the home navigation look like:

1. home links to a11yhood.org
2. news links to the a11yhood blog
3. about links to the a11yhood about page
4. so we have multiple search interfaces and the accessible switches project. do we need a more generic projects tab with a dropdown maybe?
5. where should join the community link to? do we need a link tree of something? i suspect there will multiple doors into a11yhood.
6. i'm still unclear about this help page. i was thinking about we could have a FAQ repo that help specific help questions and content. thoughts?

I think you plan for 4 is fine fro now. I'm still not sure why accessible switches gets special treatment versus any other repository out there; but we can change that down the line when we have the ability to create groupings and so on and make it part of that eventually? For join the community, I think a page with options is fine for now. The FAQ idea seems fine too.

youre right. the buttons don't really need special treatment once they are in the database. so we can just have search to access everything from a high level. so we really don't have multiple projects. the database is the portal

I have a slightly different thought about community -- I was thinknig it would link to the github based discussions. I think the patnerships (CAOS, GOAT, WATAP) should bediffert -- maybe a partners thing in the footer?

so what im thinking is a community landing page. the main area contains 2 section regions:

1. recent discussions and maybe blog posts; conversational media links.
2. links and logos of partners.

in this layout the discussions is still the primary feature. i am not thinking too much text on this page.
