Sharing Prospecting Data not working in dedicated server.

I have this mod installed in my dedicated server and I am unable to see prospect points on my map from other players in my server as they prospect nor can they see my prospect points on their map. All players in the server including myself have used the Send All button on the map to send the prospect data to the server.

The server-main.log only shows the mod being loaded. No other output in the log is found for this mod.

Also on the server looking inside "ModData/[long-string-of-letters-and-numbers]/prospectTogetherServer.json" it contains a lot of json data and the date modified for this file is being updated as prospect data is added.

If the prospectTogetherServer.json is updated and contains some data, then sending data to the server seems to work.
Are you perhaps using Groups on the server? Can you or another player try to select or creating another group and see if that fixes anything?

We have not joined any groups and there are no groups created by players on the server.

This would actually be the first time I'm hearing about group functionality for the game.

EDIT: I just notice when using the /op command to give admin commands to a friend that it added them to the admin group. So we are both in the Admin group.

Did you enable the "Auto share/receive" option? If not, your client will ignore any sent data.

If that is enabled, I have created a version with a bit more logging for troubleshooting. You can download the zip from #27 under Checks/Artifacts. Simply replace the existing zip in the Mods folder on the clients and server. This should add some logging to the Debug logs which might give us a clue as to what is going wrong.

I did a fresh test in my next reply.

I started fresh:

1. Stopped Server and closed client.
2. Deleted the Prospect Together json file in ModData on both client and server.
3. started server and saw this in server-debug.log before a client connected.:

[Debug] PT: Broadcasting data to -1

4. Connect client to server.
5. checked Prospect Together json in ModData folder on client and it has data.
6. waited 5 mins for Prospect Together auto save on server.
7. checked Prospect Together json in ModData folder on server it contains data from client.

I saw no log lines in debug or main for either client or server about sending or receiving prospector data. Just that one line repeated when the server starts up before a client connects in number 3 above.

Thanks for taking the time to test this out. It looks like the data is actually transferred to client.
I've added a bit more logging so we can check if the data actually arrives on the client side.
I've also disabled an optimization which does not render squares which are outside of the map, since that might also cause problems.

Can every player see their own prospected data, but just not those from the other players?

I think I may have wasted both of our times with this. I found out the other person testing with me didn't check the auto share check box and wasn't using the send all button. when they checked the box and i clicked send all my friend received all my prospecting areas on their map. They then prospected a location and it showed up on my map. It looks like it came down to user error.

I am glad more debug output was added to help future problems when they arise.
