The updater repository and code will need some cleaning before it is feasible to be released to the public. For this reason, it's not currently a priority. I'm going to want to prioritize getting the client to a reasonably satisfactory state before doing extensive work on the updater.

In the meanwhile, if you want, please provide reasons for why the updater should become public, and how the community can benefit from such a change. I'm not sure if making it public would give incentive for Jagex to try and break the hooks for whatever reason.
