I found out that there is a strange 0 in the lease_request page.

Everytime the initial page will search for studentid =0 and if I delete it i cannot perform search.
Count query:select count(*) from lease_request where student_id=0

 Count query:select count(*) from lease_request where student_id=0 

Please check it if I am right.

the student id initial value is 0. That is not blank. stringutils.isblank() absolutely return false. Just judge whether equals 0. Actually you don't have to query student id.
