Assignment extension does not appear as active past due date

When a student receives an extension on an assignment and the assignment end date is reached, the assignment no longer appears listed under the course on the home page. For example, a student received a 3 day extension for an assignment due 4/5 at 5pm with an end date of 4/7 at 5pm. This would put their deadline at 4/8 at 5pm with an end date of 4/10 at 5pm. On 4/7 past 5pm, the assignment no longer appears listed on the homepage (where other active assignments are found). It can still be found by entering the course page and then clicking the assignment, but it is not obvious that the submission is still open without taking these steps.

i will fix this as soon as i am able, i had to put the old workstation down and i am currently working on setting my new one. thus i am out of commission for a bit but will let you know when it is done.
