TomorrowOS is an open-source foundation for digital signage software. A server-side SDK and a player runtime, so you can build a CMS, a menu board platform, or a signage feature inside an existing application or software product without rebuilding device pairing, content sync, and offline recovery from scratch.

It's Apache 2.0. You can build a commercial product on it, keep your source proprietary, and sell it as your own.

Where things go

• Q&A — you're stuck, something isn't working, you need an answer
• Ideas — API shapes, missing capabilities, things that should exist
• Show and tell — what you built, what it's running on, screenshots welcome
• Announcements — releases and project news, from maintainers
• General — hardware war stories, industry talk, everything else

Bugs and feature requests go in Issues instead. Security vulnerabilities go to SECURITY.md. Please don't post those publicly.

Where the project actually is

Pre-1.0 and under active development. APIs will change before 1.0, and the docs are ahead of the code in places. If something in the documentation doesn't exist in the shipped package yet, say so in Q&A. That's useful, not rude.

Confirmed working on real hardware today: Samsung Tizen 6.5–7.0 (QMC and QMB) and BrightSign Series 3, 4, 5 and 6. LG webOS, Android and Windows are planned. Nothing gets listed as supported until it's been verified on a device.

What's most useful right now

If you want to contribute and don't know where to start:

1. Try the quick start and tell us where it broke.
2. Tell us what hardware you're running. Model numbers, firmware versions, what the deployment looks like. Platform coverage and what the community wants will be our roadmap.
3. Push back on the API. It's pre-1.0 for a reason!!! this is the window where the shape can still change cheaply.

This is being built by people who've spent a lot of weekends debugging black screens from HTML content on Tizen panels and BrightSign players. If that's familiar, you're in the right place.
