Add User Invite Feature

Add a feature for users to invite friends to chat

Expectation:

Invite Flow: invite -> create -> communicate -> reminder -> accept | expire

Initiation:

• Bob@bob.com initiates an invitation for jon@jon.com to join Teamsphere chat.

Creation:

• Create the invite and set the status to CREATED, along with recording the creation time.

Communication:

• Send an invitation communication via email to notify jon@jon.com about Bob’s invitation to join the Teamsphere chat.

Reminder:

• If jon@jon.com hasn’t accepted the invite within one day, send a reminder communication.

Acceptance:

• Upon jon@jon.com’s acceptance of the invite, set the invite status to ACCEPTED.

Expiration:

• If the invite remains unaccepted after 7 days, mark it as EXPIRED to indicate its expiration.

Currently here is how flow looks:

DB/Model layer:

Repository Layer:

• include JPARepository
• have a custom query for getting users ID

Service Layer:

• addUsertoUserList(User or UUID) : unknown atm
• getUserfromInvID(String) : User

Controller Layer:
GET /invite/{id}

• validate that the user clicking the link Is logged in. Otherwise, throw an error
• get user or user id from the service layer func
• add a user to chat for invited

POST /invite/{id}

Current issues:

• how are we going to generate and validate invite IDs?
• adding an email service to email users link to signup for chat
