Cannot skip forward/backward in AAC file ?

When playing AAC files I don't seem to be able to use the slider bar to skip back and forth in the file . It "snaps" back to whatever position it started out at and plays from there . MP3 files on the other hand behave as expected. The AAC files play fine and I can skip around in them with other players. I am using version 5.18.3 .
