I don't know if the 1962 Missal & liturgical practice has this practice, but in the East, prayers are said for a dead person on the 3rd, 9th, and 40th days after death, and on the annual anniversary.

Could implement a feature allowing users to enter a person's date of passing, and then send reminder notifications for said prayers; or to send a notification in advance encouraging the user to have a mass said in honor of the deceased.

This is possible, but the first version will have no end-user customization at all. No logins for end-users, nothing.
