Bug? and Question/Enhancement

First let me start by saying thanks for the great tool - it is fast becoming one of my "go tos" as it is so easy to configure and add new tools. I have been using it a bit in the last few days and have experienced what I think is a bug and also had some suggestions for improvements/enhancements (some may already be there but if they are I am not sure where).

Let's first start with the "bug": in the sparta.conf when I have enable scheduler set to true and enable scheduler on import set to false. The tools in the scheduled settings kick off when I import a nmap file. I want them to run when I add hosts manually (smaller lists usually) and NOT when I import (larger lists usually). I thought this would have done that but it does not.

Now for the enhancements/improvements - We have all this greatt stuff in here - now we need reports. I know you are woking on them but I wanted to +1 the need for reports. In the Host scan section the NMAP commands fall under "Portscan" menue item. How do we create menue items? I think this would be helpful to keep the UI looking fresh and neat.

Hi Raytri3! Thanks for the feedback. We are glad you find the tool useful.

Concerning the bug, we have tested it right now and cannot replicate the issue. Note that you cannot edit the sparta.conf file on the fly. You need to close and open SPARTA again for the changes to take effect. Once we have the settings menu ready - which will replace the need to manually edit the conf file - this will no longer be necessary. Also note that the values (True/False) are case-sensitive. If there is indeed still a bug, could you provide us a bit more info (SPARTA version, conf file)?

Thanks for the suggestions too. Out of curiosity, what would you expect to see in SPARTA's reports? We are still brainstorming this.

As for menu items, this should be possible to implement. We'll think about this and see how easy it would be to implement. By the way, if you can code, feel free to contribute ;)

Thanks for the quick feedback - I just learning to code, should I get good enough to contribute soon enough I certainly will. I think this project could be huge in the long run. For right now I have been focused on scripts (this I can do well) that be called from the menu screen. Back to the "Bug": I tried reproducing it too but couldn't today. I could before - honest. I must be loosing my mind, or thought I restarted Sparta when I didn't.

Reports - I would love to see two types of reports:
A detailed report - an HTML file that we could easilly manipulate. It should be categorized by host and include everything we know about the host like: ports/services, screen shots, etc. In the UI these are represented by "tabs" - each of those tabs could be a section under the host. It should have an option of including the "logs" or not depening on what we want to do.
An Excutive Report - an HTML report that has a break down of the services tab - the services and which hosts run that service. Can do pretty graphs here.

Very nice tool. I would also like to see the reporting feature added as well.
